Öldutúnsskóli is looking for a Danish teacher for the secondary school.
The Council is in office from 1 August 2026.
Öldutúnsskóli has around 590 pupils in Years 1 to 10.
At Öldutúnsskóli, around 590 pupils study in grades 1–10. The school emphasises a creative and rewarding learning environment where the aim is to make learning both interesting and enjoyable. Great emphasis is placed on a positive working atmosphere, varied teaching methods, strong teamwork and targeted team teaching.
The motto of the school is Respect, functionality and well-being and are reflected in all his work. The school operates according to SMT's philosophy of positive school behaviour and the Olweus programme against bullying and antisocial behaviour. Furthermore, a strong emphasis is placed on environmental issues and sustainability.
Key responsibilities and duties:
- Responsible for general Danish teaching at the secondary school level in collaboration with school management, teachers and parents.
- Participate in the development and improvement of school activities.
- Promote the welfare of pupils in partnership with parents and other school professionals.
- Working on the development of teaching methods and school operations in consultation with management and colleagues.
- Work in accordance with the school's policies and values
- Contribute to creating a positive and safe learning and working environment for students and staff.
Educational and competency requirements:
- Teaching licence (a licence must accompany the application)
- Interest and/or experience in teaching Danish.
- Agility in communication, flexibility and cooperativeness.
- Initiative and autonomy in work methods
- Positivity and an interest in working in a creative and ambitious environment.
- Punctuality and conscientiousness
- Good command of Icelandic. The proficiency level is based on the C1 criteria of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
