The position of Support Services Manager at Setbergsskóli is now open for application.

Setbergsskóli was founded in 1989 and has around 420 pupils. The school also runs a special unit for children with autism. It is situated in beautiful surroundings which offer great opportunities for outdoor activities.              

A good working atmosphere and positive communication characterise the staff team, and the well-being of students and staff is always our guiding principle. The school undertakes ambitious work with a special emphasis on a diverse learning environment, literacy, creativity, democracy, and constructive feedback. All students in Years 6 to 10 have their own tablet, and younger students also have access to such devices.

The school works according to the SMT philosophy of positive school behaviour and the Olweus philosophy against bullying and antisocial behaviour. The applicant must have leadership skills, a good and extensive knowledge of school operations and an ambitious vision for the school. The Head of Department sits on the school's management team, is a professional leader and manages Support services within schools for pupils with special needs.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Organises and manages the school's support services
  • Leads the development of individual study plans and acts as an advisor in their creation.
  • Is there a professional adviser for the school's general teachers regarding the planning of lessons?
  • Works to develop the school's operations in collaboration with other managers and colleagues.
  • Promoting the well-being of students in partnership with parents and professionals.
  • Works in accordance with the school's policy on SMT school skills.
  • Other tasks as per the job description

Educational and competency requirements:

  • Teacher's licence (copy of licence to be attached to the application)
  • Further Education in Special Education
  • Management education desirable
  • Experience of organisation and special tuition in a primary school is an advantage.
  • A positive attitude and good interpersonal skills.
  • Initiative and independence in work methods and good organisational skills
  • Positivity and an interest in working in a creative and ambitious environment
  • Punctuality and conscientiousness
  • Professional ambition and flexibility in work

A clean criminal record is a condition of employment.
