The Hafnarfjörður Music School is seeking a rhythmic piano teacher, for a 30-hour position. The position is to be filled from 1 August 2026.

At the Hafnarfjörður Music School, we emphasise a creative and rewarding learning environment where all parties strive to make learning both interesting and enjoyable. We place importance on a good working atmosphere and a variety of teaching methods.

There are about 600 students and 50 teachers at the Hafnarfjörður Music School. 

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Rhythmic piano teaching in accordance with the curriculum for music schools
  • Other tasks assigned to an employee by a superior and in accordance with their job description.

Educational and competency requirements:

  • Further study in rhythmic piano playing
  • Experience of working with students
  • Agility in communication, flexibility and cooperativeness
  • Initiative and autonomy in work methods
  • Positive attitude and good interpersonal skills
  • Interest in working in a creative and ambitious environment
  • Punctuality and conscientiousness
  • A good command of Icelandic is required. The competency level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is expected., Self-assessment framework

A clean criminal record is a condition.
