Öldutúnsskóli is advertising for a textiles teacher for a 80-100% position.
The Council is in office from 1 August 2026.
At Öldutúnsskóli, around 590 pupils study in Years 1–10. The school places an emphasis on a professional and supportive learning environment where a targeted effort is made to foster pupils' interest in their studies and promote their success. A strong emphasis is also placed on a good working atmosphere, varied teaching methods, robust teamwork within year groups and targeted team teaching.
The school's motto is Respect, Engagement and Well-being, and it is reflected in all its work. The work is based, among other things, on the SMT philosophy of positive school behaviour and the Olweus anti-bullying programme. Furthermore, environmental issues are emphasised in the daily running of the school.
Key responsibilities and duties:
- To provide general textile education at all levels in collaboration with management, teachers and parents.
- Participate in the development of school activities in collaboration with management and colleagues.
- Promote the welfare of students in collaboration with parents and other professionals.
- Work in accordance with the school's policy.
Educational and competency requirements:
- Teaching licence (a licence must accompany the application)
- Interest and/or experience in teaching textiles
- Agility in communication, flexibility and cooperativeness
- Initiative and autonomy in work methods
- Positivity and an interest in working in a creative and ambitious environment
- Very good Icelandic skills, at a minimum of C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
A condition of employment is that the individual provides a clean criminal record.
