{"id":12574,"date":"2015-01-19T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-01-19T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hafnarfjordur.is\/haustsyning-hafnarborgar-2015\/"},"modified":"2022-10-25T08:58:13","modified_gmt":"2022-10-25T08:58:13","slug":"harbour-city-autumn-show-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hafnarfjordur.is\/en\/haustsyning-hafnarborgar-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"Hafnarborg's Autumn Exhibition 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The final selection of proposals for the autumn exhibition at Hafnarborg 2015 has now been made, and it was the proposal by A\u00f0alhei\u00f0ur Valgeirsd\u00f3ttir and Ald\u00eds Arnard\u00f3ttir that was chosen. The exhibition proposal, which bears the working title <em>The world without us<\/em> The exhibition brings together Icelandic artists from different generations who work with ideas of the universe in their work. The exhibition proposal deals with time and space where mass and force come together and the boundaries between distance and proximity become blurred. It is therefore safe to say that an exciting exhibition is on the horizon.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>This autumn, Hafnarborg launched for the fifth time an initiative aimed at giving curators the opportunity to submit a proposal for the autumn exhibition at Hafnarborg in 2015. The authors of the proposals received have diverse educational and professional backgrounds related to visual art and cultural projects, but have not previously held the role of curator. The applications are then reviewed and the winning proposal is selected each year by the Art Council of Hafnarborg, together with the Director.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>Adalheidur Valgeirsdottir<\/strong> graduated from the Graphics Department of the Iceland Academy of the Arts in 1982. She began her career as an artist with graphic works and drawings but soon turned exclusively to painting in her artistic creation. She has held numerous solo exhibitions and taken part in group exhibitions at home and abroad. A\u00f0alhei\u00f0ur studied art history at the University of Iceland, where she received a BA degree in 2011 and an MA degree in 2014. A\u00f0alhei\u00f0ur's thesis is titled 'Pencil, Spray, Lacquer and Emotion'. Painting in Iceland in the 21st Century. In it, she discusses the nature of painting, the approach of Icelandic contemporary artists to it in their creative work, and the redefinition of painting with the advent of new media.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ald\u00eds Arnard\u00f3ttir<\/strong> She graduated with an MA degree in Art History from the University of Iceland in 2014, having previously completed a BA degree there in 2012. In her master's thesis, she discusses the Nordic art exhibition. <em>Experimental Environment<\/em> <em>Second<\/em> which was held at Korp\u00falfssta\u00f0ir in 1980. In her work, Ald\u00eds has been involved in writing to some extent, and she has written exhibition texts for both artists and galleries.
