At the meeting of the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Town Council, which is currently underway, a detailed plan for \u00c1svallabraut, a road connecting \u00c1sland and Velli, was approved.<\/p>\n
\u201eThe \u00c1svallabrautin is a major transport improvement, not just for motorists but also for pedestrians and cyclists, as cycle paths will be laid alongside the road. Thirteen years have passed since the first resident moved into the Vallahverfi\u00f0 district. The district has grown rapidly and now has a population of around 4,900. Vellir is a district that has everything to offer; the area features amenities, a swimming pool, a sports centre and a strong school community.<\/p>\n
With the introduction of \u00c1svallabraut, the Vellir area is connected to \u00c1slandi\u00f0. The road will run from Lindartorg, the final roundabout on \u00c1svallabraut in \u00c1svallir, over the ridge between \u00c1sfjall and Vatnshl\u00ed\u00f0, which are well-known landmarks in the area, and will connect to Kald\u00e1rselsveg via the junction with Brekku\u00e1s.<\/p>\n
\u201eThis connects the two newest neighbourhoods in the town, and we now have a route that will serve future building sites,\u201e says \u00d3lafur Ingi.<\/p>\n
