The concert of the Schools' Symphony Orchestra will be held in Langholtskirkja on Saturday, 31st January at 16:00.
\nThe percussion soloist with the orchestra is Helgi \u00deorleiksson, a student at the Gar\u00f0ab\u00e6r Music School.<\/p>\n
The conductor is Gu\u00f0mundur \u00d3li Gunnarsson.<\/p>\n
The programme includes the following works:
\nA. Marquez: Conga del Fuego Nuevo
\n\u00c1skell M\u00e1sson: Concerto for Snare Drum and Orchestra
\nA. Dvo\u0159\u00e1k: Symphony No. 8 in G major<\/p>\n
The Symphony Orchestra of the Music Schools, established in 2004, is a collaborative project of five music schools in the capital region, the F\u00cdH Music School, Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Music School, K\u00f3pavogur Music School, Gar\u00f0ab\u00e6r Music School and the Sigursveinn D. Kristinsson School of Music. The orchestra is made up of 90 young music students, most of whom are of primary and secondary school age.<\/p>\n
Nine students from the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Music School are in the orchestra.<\/p>\n
