Construction on the school will begin later this year, and it is planned to be operational in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Nearly 5,000 people now live in V\u00f6llunum, and the nursery meets a pressing need for nursery places in the neighbourhood.<\/p>\n<p>There are 17 nurseries in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, three of which are privately run schools with a service contract with the municipality of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur.
