On Saturday, 14th February, Schools of Music Day will be celebrated in almost all music schools in the country. At the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Music School, there has been a long-standing tradition of a programme in the school on this day.\n<\/p>\n
Pupils in Pre-School II are to arrive with their parents at 10:00 in the Great Hall, where the school's teachers will be giving an instrument introduction, as most pupils in Pre-School II will be starting an instrument next winter.\n<\/p>\n
Following the presentation in the Great Hall, pupils and parents will be invited to visit the classrooms in the school, where the teachers will be on hand to tell them more about the instruments and instrumental tuition.<\/p>\n
Concert performances will then take place throughout the day at the Music School. On the school's Torg, there will be concerts at 13:15, 14:15 and 15:15, and in H\u00e1s\u00f6lum at 13:30 and 14:30.
\nAs usual, a large number of guests have come to the Music School on this day, and there is always a great atmosphere in the school.<\/p>\n
Day of the Music Schools in T\u00f3nkv\u00edsl. The day's concerts begin in the Hallsteinsal at 14:00. Special guests at T\u00f3nkv\u00edsl will be drummer Gu\u00f0mundur Steingr\u00edmsson and jazz pianist \u00c1stvaldur Traustason, who will be joined by students from the Rhythmic Department of the K\u00f3pavogur Music School. The T\u00f3nkv\u00edsl ensembles then play one after the other with their usual brilliance, with or without drummer Gu\u00f0mundur, who is one of the pioneers of jazz music in Iceland.
