The exhibition is entitled In the Grey Area.

David Taylor has attracted worldwide attention for his unique and innovative designs. In a grey area is his first exhibition in this country. The exhibition consists of everyday objects such as lamps, clocks and mirrors, all of which bear strong sculptural characteristics and are often made from unconventional materials.

His broad subject matter is matched by his expert skill in metalwork, which he approaches in a relaxed manner. David works in a grey area; he is a designer who works in the vicinity of fine art, or what he calls contemporary craft which would be translated into Icelandic as contemporary craftsmanship. The works are all new and have been specially created for the exhibition that Hafnarborg is staging in collaboration with the design shop S/K/E/K/K.

David Taylor (b. 1966) is a Scottish designer based in Sweden.
