Seven parties applied to build blocks of flats on the plot, which is in the older part of the Vallahverfi district.<\/p>\n<p>The Vellir has grown rapidly and now has a population of around 4,900. It is a neighbourhood with everything to offer; the area has amenities, a swimming pool, a sports centre and a strong school community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201eThere has been a lot of enquiry about plots, and we are seeing an increased interest in plots in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur. It is very important for us to be able to offer a diverse selection of plots, and it is pleasing to see how many people were interested in building at Kirkjuvellir,\u201e says Mayor Haraldur L.
