Kristinn Gu\u00f0laugsson has been appointed head teacher of Hvaleyrarsk\u00f3li in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, with effect from 1 August 2015. Kristinn was born in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur in 1968 and attended \u00d6ldut\u00fanssk\u00f3li, later obtaining his school-leaving certificate from Flensborgarsk\u00f3li.\u00a0 He qualified as a PE teacher from Laugarvatn and completed further training at the Norwegian University of Sport and Physical Education in 1994.\u00a0 In 2000, Kristinn obtained a diploma in Computer and Information Technology from KH\u00cd, and in 2009 he completed a course in Human Resources Management at the University of Iceland's Centre for Continuing Education.\u00a0 In the autumn of 2014, he began a Master's programme in Educational Management at the Faculty of Education, University of Iceland, and is currently working on his thesis for the programme.<\/p>\n
Kristinn has worked as a teacher at \u00c1lftanessk\u00f3li since 1990 and has been the head of the 1st-6th grade department, as well as teaching computer and information technology, since 2008. Kristinn has been heavily involved in community affairs and has served on the municipal council, as well as on various boards and committees for the municipality of \u00c1lftanes.<\/p>\n
