\u00d3skar Gu\u00f0j\u00f3nsson has been appointed the new director of the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Library and will start work at the beginning of August. \u00d3skar holds a Master's degree in Library Science from the State University of New Jersey and a BA in Library and Information Science and Literature from the University of Iceland.\n<\/p>\n
He currently works as a collection manager and has overall supervision of three branches of the Reykjav\u00edk City Library.\n<\/p>\n
Anna Sigr\u00ed\u00f0ur Einarsd\u00f3ttir, the current director of the library, has announced her intention to step down this autumn. Anna has led the Library of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur for nearly twenty years and has worked at the library for 31 years.\n<\/p>\n
The Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Library has performed very well in surveys conducted by the municipality of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur over recent decades and is one of the town's most popular cultural institutions.\n<\/p>\n
