The exhibition features works by the artists&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>Bj\u00f6rg Thorsteinsd\u00f3ttir, Brynhildur \u00deorgeirsd\u00f3ttir, Finn J\u00f3nsson, Ger\u00f0ur Helgad\u00f3ttir, Marta Mar\u00eda J\u00f3nsd\u00f3ttir, Ragnar M\u00e1r Nikul\u00e1sson, Steina<\/strong>&nbsp;and<br \/>\n<strong>William Thorbergsson Bergsson&nbsp;<\/strong>who all have diverse backgrounds in the Icelandic art scene.<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition brings together works by Icelandic artists from different generations who work with ideas about the universe. They shed light on certain aspects of the universe, whether it be the immediate environment or a wider context, the micro or the macro.<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p>During the exhibition period, guided tours with the artists will be offered, the first of which will take place on Sunday, 30 August at 3 p.m. On this occasion, Steina will talk to visitors about her art and varied career; she is a world-renowned pioneer of electronic and video art. A symposium will also be held on Thursday, 24 September at 20:00.<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p>The curators are&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>Adalheidur Valgeirsdottir<\/strong>&nbsp;artist and art historian and&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>Ald\u00eds Arnard\u00f3ttir<\/strong>&nbsp;a curator, but their idea for the exhibition was selected from submissions last autumn when proposals were invited for the museum's autumn exhibition in 2015.<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p>Find out more about the exhibition&nbsp;<br \/>\n<a title=\"here (Opens in a new browser tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/hafnarborg.is\/exhibition\/heimurinn-an-okkar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here (Opens in a new browser tab)&nbsp;<\/a>.<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<em>The world without us<\/em>&nbsp;is the fifth exhibition in Hafnarborg's autumn exhibition series, where the curator's idea is selected from submitted proposals. As part of the same project, exhibitions by anthropologist \u00d3l\u00f6f Ger\u00f0ur Sigf\u00fasd\u00f3ttir have previously been held.,&nbsp;<br \/>\n<em>For now<\/em>, Autumn 2011, an exhibition by Gudni T\u00f3masson, art historian,&nbsp;<br \/>\n<em>Ski Area<\/em>, Autumn 2012, an exhibition by architect Anna Mar\u00eda Bogad\u00f3ttir,&nbsp;<br \/>\n<em>The index houses in the house<\/em>, autumn 2013 and the exhibition by Helga \u00de\u00f3rsd\u00f3ttir,&nbsp;<br \/>\n<em>Channel, autumn 2014.<\/em>&nbsp;With its autumn exhibition series, Hafnarborg aims to create a platform for interesting ideas and to be a venue where art can flourish, shaped by diverse perspectives and themes. Hafnarborg is now inviting proposals for its autumn exhibition in 2016.
