The conference aims to share and build further knowledge in the field of multiculturalism. The conference will, among other things, discuss how the Icelandic academic and professional community can work more closely together to increase knowledge in this field, and how the University of Iceland can contribute to the general public debate. Presentations may be in the following areas and can be academic, research-related or related to any kind of practical application in the field. There may be overlap between areas.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Welfare matters, such as social services, healthcare and employment participation<\/li>\n<li>Education, e.g. teaching, childcare, sports and leisure activities<\/li>\n<li>History, religion, culture and language\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Social sciences, such as anthropology, law, economics, business and politics\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Interested academics and professionals are invited to submit a 70\u2013150 word abstract for either 20-minute or 10-minute presentations. The abstract should include a brief description of the topic or aim of the presentation and its main findings or conclusions. The abstracts will be published on the conference website and used for promotional purposes. Proposals may also be submitted for a complete panel of three presentations (one 20-minute presentation and two 10-minute presentations), which, along with a discussion, will form a one-hour session. The deadline for abstracts and panel proposals is 15 January.<\/p>\n<p> The conference programme committee will review the submitted abstracts and select presentations.
