The exhibition has toured the country and been set up in collaboration with eleven municipalities.\u00a0 The exhibition has now been set up in the foyer of B\u00e6jarb\u00ed\u00f3 and is open during the cinema's opening hours, or from 1 p.m. throughout December.<\/em>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>A travelling exhibition on the women's rights movement over 100 years<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The year 2015 marks the 100th anniversary of women's suffrage. A travelling exhibition has toured the country and been set up in collaboration with eleven municipalities. The exhibition began its journey at Snorrastofa in Borgarnes in January 2015. From there, it has travelled to Stykkish\u00f3lmur, \u00cdsafj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, Bl\u00f6ndu\u00f3s, Akureyri, H\u00fasav\u00edk, Egilssta\u00f0ir, H\u00f6fn in Hornafj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, the Westman Islands, \u00c1rborg and Reykjanesb\u00e6r. The exhibition's final destination is here in the capital region, specifically in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, this December. The exhibition consists of eight large, illustrated posters in chronological and thematic order, with short text in English and Icelandic. The posters tell the story of, among other things, the Icelandic women's associations, the struggle for suffrage, the labour movement, Women's Day and the Red Stockings, the women's movement and women's candidacies of the 1980s, Vigd\u00eds Finnbogad\u00f3ttir and J\u00f3hanna Sigur\u00f0ard\u00f3ttir, women's art with a special focus on Bj\u00f6rk Gu\u00f0mundsd\u00f3ttir (music), Gu\u00f0r\u00fan fr\u00e1 Lundi, J\u00fal\u00edana J\u00f3nsd\u00f3ttir and Ragnhei\u00f0ur J\u00f3nsd\u00f3ttir (literature) and N\u00edna Tryggvad\u00f3ttir and Louisa Matth\u00edasd\u00f3ttir (visual arts), as well as addressing the future of the equality struggle.
