The distribution of subsidy grants from 2012-2015 was presented to the Education Committee last week.<\/em>\n<\/p>\n<p>In total, parents of 3,050 children used the council's leisure time grant in 2015. Of these, just over 2,500 children received a subsidy for more than one course. \u00a0For a course to be subsidised, it must run for at least 10 weeks and have a session at least once a week. The average payment per child was 21,159 kr\u00f3nur, and the amount has increased slightly year-on-year. The reason for this is the increased use of leisure activity grants. More clubs than before are now using electronic methods to register participants, and the aim is for all subsidies to be processed electronically in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>When the breakdown of subsidies by gender is examined, a small difference appears between the sexes. Over a three-year period, from 2012-2015, 52% of subsidies went to boys and 48% to girls.
