Dance evenings are held monthly at Hraunseli throughout the winter, and senior citizens also have the opportunity to practise dancing twice a week.\u00a0 The association's weekly programme is varied, and many older citizens make use of indoor walking facilities at Kaplakriki, among other things.<\/em>\n<\/p>\n<p>On all weekdays, there is an indoor walking facility at Kaplakriki, and a great many people have been taking advantage of this service, which was added to the club's otherwise ambitious programme of activities just over a year ago. You can drop in any time between 9 am and 12 pm on weekdays at the indoor athletics centre at Kaplakriki.\u00a0 An average of 40 people are estimated to use this facility each day, with some walking dozens of laps around the track, depending on their mood and the time available. The exercise is key, but so too is the enjoyable company. People of all ages have increasingly been taking advantage of the indoor walking facility, as the weather and conditions have made outdoor walking difficult this winter. The facility is open to anyone who is able and wishes to make use of this opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>The Mayor of the Borough Council and the Chair of the Borough Council, together with the Borough Manager, decided to start Monday morning with a health-promoting walk in Kaplakrika in good company \u2013 see picture.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/febh.is\/\">Homepage of the Association of Senior Citizens<\/a> Information on the programme for the society's activities can be found. The association was founded in 1968 and its purpose is to work on the welfare of elderly people in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur.
