The Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur youth club singing competition was held this week. This annual competition is a qualifying round for the Samf\u00e9s singing competition, which will be held in the Laugardalsh\u00f6ll on Saturday, 5th March.<\/p>\n
The competition took place at the Gaflar Theatre, and the venue was packed out with a tremendous atmosphere. A total of 14 acts took part in the competition, two acts from each youth centre. These were acts that had been selected in preliminary rounds held by the youth centres earlier this winter. The judges were Bjarki L\u00e1russon, El\u00edsabet Ormslev, Eysteinn Eysteinsson and Margr\u00e9t Arnard\u00f3ttir.\u00a0 The two acts chosen as winners, and thereby elected as representatives of the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur youth clubs at Samf\u00e9s, were \u00cdsold Ylfa Schweitz Jakobsd\u00f3ttir, who performed the song 'Minning m\u00edn \/ Photograph' by Ed Sheeran and comes from Hrauni. Then there were Helena Clausen Hei\u00f0mundsd\u00f3ttir, Hildur Clausen Hei\u00f0mundsd\u00f3ttir and Saga R\u00fan Vilhj\u00e1lmsd\u00f3ttir, who sang the song 'Skyscraper' by Demi Lovato and are from the Mosinn. The evening's presenters were Fannar \u00de\u00f3r Benediktsson and J\u00f3nas Eyj\u00f3lfur J\u00f3nasson.<\/p>\n
Judges and spectators alike all agreed that the competition was exceptionally tough this year, as there were incredibly talented youngsters in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur.
