The board of the \u00cdBH Elite Sports Fund today allocated grants to the member clubs of \u00cdBH for major championships in 2015 in the senior, junior and youth categories. \u00a0The board of the fund deemed eighteen projects in the adult categories and sixteen in the junior\/youth categories to be eligible for funding this year.<\/em><\/p>\n

The role of the \u00cdBH Achievement Fund is to operate in accordance with its regulations, which cover the following: travel grants, major championship achievement grants, achievement grants for European club competitions, and fitness grants for young and promising athletes.\u00a0The fund's board assessed all applications received and decided that eighteen projects in the senior categories and sixteen projects in the junior\/youth categories were eligible for funding.<\/p>\n

The projects that receive a grant are as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Dance Sports Club<\/strong>, which had competitors at the World Championship in 10 Dances and the European Championship in 10 Dances in the adult category. Sigur\u00f0ur M\u00e1r Atlason and J\u00f3na Krist\u00edn Benediktsd\u00f3ttir. Grant amount: kr. 600,000.- European Youth Latin Championship and Youth Standard World Championship. Kristinn \u00de\u00f3r Sigur\u00f0sson, Harpa Steingr\u00edmsd\u00f3ttir, Sindri Gu\u00f0laugsson and Anitu Ros Kingo Andersen. Grant amount: kr. 240,000.- The total amount allocated for the club's projects in 2015 is kr. 1,170,000.-<\/p>\n

Sports Club Fj\u00f6r\u00f0ur<\/strong>, which had a competitor at the ICP \u2013 World Championships for Disabled Swimmers in the adult category. Kolbr\u00fan Alda Stef\u00e1nsd\u00f3ttir. Grant amount: kr. 150,000. Total amount allocated for the club's projects in 2015 is kr. 320,000.<\/p>\n

Keilir Golf Club<\/strong>, which had competitors at the Men's and Women's European Team Championships and the Men's European Individual Championships. R\u00fanar Arn\u00f3rsson, Axel B\u00f3asson, G\u00edsli Sveinbergsson, Anna S\u00f3lveig Snorrad\u00f3ttir and Gu\u00f0r\u00fan Br\u00e1 Bj\u00f6rgvinsd\u00f3ttir.\u00a0Grant amount: kr. 900,000 for the Men's European Championship. G\u00edsli Sveinbergsson and Hennig Darri \u00de\u00f3r\u00f0arson. Grant amount: kr. 120,000. In total, kr. 1,345,000 has been allocated for the club's projects in 2015.<\/p>\n

BH Tennis Section<\/strong>, which had a competitor at the Women's Tennis Fed Cup in Montenegro. Hj\u00f6rd\u00eds R\u00f3sa Gu\u00f0mundsd\u00f3ttir. Grant amount: kr. 150,000. Total amount allocated for the association's projects in 2015 is kr. 150,000.<\/p>\n

The Riding Club S\u00f6rli<\/strong>, which had competitors at the Icelandic Horse World Championships in Herning, Denmark. Eyj\u00f3lfur \u00deorsteinsson. Grant amount: kr. 150,000. Total amount allocated for the association's projects in 2015: kr. 150,000.<\/p>\n

FH Athletics Department<\/strong>, which had competitors at the Men's European Indoor Championships and the Men's and Women's European Winter Throws Championships. Trausti Stef\u00e1nsson, Hilmar \u00d6rn J\u00f3nsson and Vigd\u00eds J\u00f3nsd\u00f3ttir.\u00a0Grant amount: kr. 450,000.- European Youth Olympic Festival, U-20 and U-23 European Championships. Hilda Steinunn Egilsd\u00f3ttir, \u00de\u00f3rd\u00eds Eva Steinsd\u00f3ttir, Hilmar \u00d6rn J\u00f3nsson, Vigd\u00eds J\u00f3nsd\u00f3ttir, Stef\u00e1n Velemir and Arna Stefan\u00eda Gu\u00f0mundsd\u00f3ttir.\u00a0Grant amount: kr. 360,000. Total grants awarded for the department's projects in 2015: kr. 1,625,000.<\/p>\n

Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Swimming Club<\/strong>, which had competitors at the World Championships in the 50m pool and the European Championships in the 25m pool. Hrafnhildur L\u00fathersd\u00f3ttir and Aron \u00d6rn Stef\u00e1nsson. Grant amount: kr. 300,000.- European Games, Youth Olympic Programme and the European Youth Olympic Festival.\u00a0Harpa Ing\u00fe\u00f3rsd\u00f3ttir and \u00d3lafur Sigur\u00f0sson. Grant amount: kr. 120,000. Total grants awarded for the club's projects in 2015 amount to kr. 900,000.<\/p>\n

Bj\u00f6rk Taekwondo Club<\/strong>, which had competitors at the U-21 European Championship: Sigur\u00f0ur P\u00e1lsson and Gabr\u00edel \u00d6rn Gr\u00e9tarsson. Grant amount: kr. 120,000. Total amount allocated for the association's projects in 2015: kr. 120,000. <\/p>\n

In total, the Afreksmannasj\u00f3\u00f0ur has now allocated kr. 3,660,000.<\/p>\n

The fund paid in the year 2015:<\/p>\n

Haukar Handball Section<\/strong>, which had competitors in the European Club Competition for 3 rounds. Men's senior team. Prize money: kr. 1,800,000. Total amount allocated for the association's projects in 2015 is kr. 2,230,000.<\/p>\n

FH Football Club<\/strong>, which had competitors in the European Club Competition for 2 rounds. Men's Senior Team. Prize fund: kr. 1,200,000. Total allocated for the association's projects in 2015: kr. 1,200,000.<\/p>\n

A total of kr. 6,660,000 has been allocated for 2015 for achievement projects, in addition to grants from the travel fund amounting to kr. 4,240,000. The total amount allocated for 2015 is therefore kr. 10,900,000.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
