At the beginning of \u00deorrir, the group meets for a \u00deorrir feast and tucks into delicious delicacies. This was the sixth year in a row that such a party had been held at the swimming pool during \u00deorrir. Each swimmer contributed money to a fund for the occasion. Last week, representatives of the swimming group went to a meeting with the officials of Neistinn with the proceeds from the collection.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/hafnarfjordur.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/yibpdftw-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Thor&#039;s Feast, South Bay Pool, 2016\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 2048px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 2048\/1152;\"><\/p>\n<h4>Swimmers raise money for a good cause<\/h4>\n<p>This year, the proceeds of the fundraiser at the Sundgarpar's Thorrablot in the Su\u00f0urb\u00e6r swimming pool went to Neistinn, the association for children with heart conditions. At the party, kr. 25,000 was raised, and the proceeds were handed over to representatives of Neistinn last week. It was Birgir Dagbjartsson and Ragnar Gu\u00f0mundsson, along with \u00c1rni R\u00fanar \u00c1rnason at Su\u00f0urb\u00e6jarlaug, who met with the representatives of Neistinn. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i>The Neistinn Association, a support association for children with heart disease, was founded on 9 May 1995. The association is open to all who are interested in the welfare of children with heart disease and adults with congenital heart defects. Today, there are over 400 families in the association.\u00a0Neistinn supports the families of children and young people with heart defects in various ways \u2013 socially, financially and emotionally. Neistinn provides all kinds of information regarding heart defects and their treatment, for example through the publication of a newsletter and its information website, hjartag\u00e1ttin.neistinn.is. The association maintains a vibrant social life for the entertainment and support of families of children with heart conditions, and its youth work is particularly lively.
