Madame Rannveig was the wife of Bjarni Knight Sívertsen, a major shipowner in Hafnarfjörður. Annríki received a grant from the Cultural and Tourist Committee of Hafnarfjörður to promote and launch the project almost two years ago. Over the past two years, the project has been joined by ten individuals to assist with research and sewing, as it is a complex undertaking that is fundamentally based on the history and descriptions from Rannveig's estate. All of these individuals donated their work to the project, and this represents an invaluable contribution to the preservation of the historical heritage of the City of Hafnarfjörður. The owners are the couple Ásmundur Kristjánsson, a machinist and goldsmith, and Guðrún Hildur Rosenkjær, a tailor and dressmaker, who run the company Annríki – National Costumes and Jewellery. The company specialises in everything related to the Icelandic national costume. The sewing of the undergarment for Madam Rannveig is one of the couple's ambitious pet projects. The undergarment is now complete and was formally presented today to the Mayor of Hafnarfjörður, Harald L. It is thanks to enthusiasts and well-wishers that the Hafnarfjörður Folk Museum now has a fine collection, which enables it to regularly mount new exhibitions and rotate artefacts and photographs. This has only been possible because of the goodwill the museum enjoys within the community. “ says Haraldur L.
