{"id":12976,"date":"2016-03-29T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-03-29T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hafnarfjordur.is\/nidur-med-grimuna\/"},"modified":"2022-10-25T08:59:18","modified_gmt":"2022-10-25T08:59:18","slug":"down-with-the-bully","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hafnarfjordur.is\/en\/nidur-med-grimuna\/","title":{"rendered":"Down with the mask"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<p><em>Two representatives from the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Youth Council, L\u00e1ra R\u00f3s<br \/>\nFri\u00f0riksd\u00f3ttir and Katr\u00edn R\u00f3s \u00derastard\u00f3ttir attended the Youth Council conference.<br \/>\nof the Young Men's Association of Iceland from 16th to 18th March. The conference was held at the Hotel<br \/>\nSelfossi and the title of this year's conference was: <strong>Down with the mask \u2013 mental health<br \/>\nyouth in Iceland.<\/strong> This is the seventh time that the Icelandic Youth Federation has held<br \/>\nfor the conference, Young People and Democracy with the aim of supporting<br \/>\ndemocratic participation of young people.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The status was reported at the conference.<br \/>\nmental health services in Iceland, including a good presentation from the Anxiety Treatment Centre. Main<br \/>\nHowever, emphasis was placed on the work of young people in the various workshops held on both days. Conference participants had the opportunity to take part in the following workshops:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Emotional Workshop<\/li>\n<li>Boys' self-portrait<\/li>\n<li>Girls' self-image<\/li>\n<li>Prejudice and<br \/>\ndiversity<\/li>\n<li>The influence of social media<\/li>\n<li>The Mental Care Box<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Also, there were in<br \/>\norganised workshops where the aim was to find ten useful and helpful tips from the young people themselves that are of good use in times of distress.
