Job<br \/>\nThe post of education director was advertised in February, and Fanney was selected from the applicants.<br \/>\na group of fourteen applicants. Fanney has held the position of head teacher of the Grunnsk\u00f3linn in<br \/>\nShe has lived in Sandger\u00f0i since 2007, but has worked at the school since 1996.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>Extensive management experience and knowledge of Icelandic<br \/>\nschool community<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/hafnarfjordur.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/6dbf2nka.jpg\" alt=\"Fanney Halld\u00f3rsd\u00f3ttir\" class=\"left lazyload\" align=\"right\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 372px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 372\/279;\"><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\nFanney holds a B.Ed. degree from the University of Iceland, and a diploma in the management of educational institutions.<br \/>\nfrom the University of Iceland and is completing an M.Ed. degree in the management of educational institutions from<br \/>\nsame school. She has extensive management experience but since 2007 has<br \/>\nFanney for the position of Headteacher of Sandger\u00f0i Primary School and Director<br \/>\nSchoolhouse, a day-care centre. She also took over the management of the town library.<br \/>\nSandger\u00f0i in 2009. Before Fanney took up the post of head teacher of the Grunnsk\u00f3linn in<br \/>\nIn Sandger\u00f0i, she served as deputy headteacher from 2005-7 and in the years<br \/>\nFrom 1996 to 2005, she served as a pastoral supervisor and Head of Year at the same school.<br \/>\nIn her role as headteacher, Fanney has, among other things, introduced a health-promoting ethos into the school.<br \/>\nthe school's work and today Sandger\u00f0i Primary School is a health-promoting school, one<br \/>\nprimary school in the South West. The school also works according to the philosophy of education and<br \/>\nresponsibilities that Fanney took the initiative in.
