Cultural grants were awarded at a ceremony in Hafnarborg today. In total, twenty projects received a grant this time; individuals, cultural groups or organisations, all of which have the common thread of being connected to Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur in one way or another. The grants from the Cultural and Tourism Committee of the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur are awarded annually to individuals and projects likely to further enrich and deepen the city's artistic life.<\/em><\/p>\n

The allocation of grants by the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur is based on an assessment of applications. Cultural events, artists, associations or institutions applying for a grant must be connected to Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur in some way. Examples include permanent residency, an event\/project taking place in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, and\/or a project involving the promotion of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur's cultural activities. The total grant amount is 4,785,000.-<\/p>\n
