A large group was also carrying out clean-up work in Vogar, in and around the Nor\u00f0urhella area. This initiative is part of the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur's clean-up campaign from 2nd to 16th May, where all residents, students of all school levels, and employees of businesses and institutions have been encouraged to take an active part.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong> \u201eWash away the dirt, so someone might want a little.\u201c&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An annual clean-up campaign in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur has been underway from 2nd to 16th May. During this period, council workers have been busy cleaning up all over Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and have simultaneously challenged residents and staff of businesses and institutions in the town to take an active part by cleaning up their own grounds and immediate surroundings. Similarly, nurseries and primary schools in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur have organised their own clean-up days, where all pupils and teachers have been tasked with cleaning specific areas, both within their grounds and in their immediate surroundings.\u00a0 Yesterday, creative artists at the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Icehouse and at the Viking Village on Flensborg Harbour got together to clean the beach and the pier. The clean-up efforts were then celebrated with a complimentary soup from the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, where the mayor and councillors warmly welcomed guests and passers-by at \u00c1svallalaug. An increasing number of domestic and international tourists are starting to visit the town, and their numbers are expected to grow in the coming months. Seven new shops have opened in the Fj\u00f6r\u00f0ur shopping centre in recent weeks, and a number of new and varied restaurants and caf\u00e9s have also been and are currently opening. A lively and enjoyable summer is on the cards in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, and everyone hopes that a clean and tidy Fj\u00f6r\u00f0ur will welcome residents and visitors.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Mayor and staff of the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur send their thanks to residents, students at all levels of schooling, and employees of businesses and institutions in the town for their contribution to the clean-up efforts in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur.
