The town council unanimously agreed at its meeting on 25 May that the Borough of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur should pay special attention to the threat of human trafficking. The motion states that all procedures within the borough will be reviewed with the aim of protecting those who are vulnerable to human trafficking.<\/p>\n
All procurement processes and tender documents will be reviewed in this regard. Furthermore, the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur will ensure that staff and municipal inspectors receive training on how to identify human trafficking. This training has already been delivered twice. Alda Hr\u00f6nn J\u00f3hannsd\u00f3ttir, Chief Legal Officer of the Capital Area Police, gave a presentation to a large group of staff recently, and she and Detective Snorri Birgisson gave a briefing to the town council ahead of the council meeting.<\/p>\n
