The Gender Equity Incentive Awards were received by Fimleikaf\u00e9lag Hafnarfjar\u00f0ar for the largest increase in members of the gender that was underrepresented, which was girls, and Sundf\u00e9lag Hafnarfjar\u00f0ar for the largest percentage increase of the gender that was underrepresented, which was boys.<\/p>\n<p><b>The following sports clubs receive a grant:&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Gymnastics Club (FH) total kr. 2,809,707<\/li>\n<li>The football club Haukar, total kr. 2,429,191.<\/li>\n<li>Gymnastics Club Bj\u00f6rk, total kr. 2,418,998.<\/li>\n<li>Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Swimming Club (SH) total kr. 740,648<\/li>\n<li>Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Badminton Club (BH) total kr. 349,939<\/li>\n<li>Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Dance Sport Association (D\u00cdH) total kr. 343,144<\/li>\n<li>The Riding Club S\u00f6rli, total kr. 295,580.<\/li>\n<li>Golf Club Keilir total kr. 283,689<\/li>\n<li>Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Boxing Club total kr. 66,251<\/li>\n<li>Sports club Fj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, total kr. 62,853.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Two allocations a year<\/h4>\n<p>An agreement has been in force since 2001 between Rio Tinto Alcan, \u00cdBH and the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur to support the sports activities of athletes aged 16 and under from member clubs of \u00cdBH. \u00a0It was last revised in 2014, and the total annual funding became 18 million kr\u00f3nur, with each party contributing 9 million kr\u00f3nur per year. There are two allocations per year. In the spring allocation, 60% of the total amount is distributed among the clubs based on their number of members aged 16 and under, and this year, for the second time, an equality incentive award is being made in accordance with the current agreement, i.e.e. those clubs that have the largest increase in membership, both in percentage terms and in absolute numbers, for the gender that was under-represented the previous year receive special recognition.\u00a0The second disbursement takes place in December, when 40% of the amount is paid to the clubs based on the coaches' curricula and level of education.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Organised sports activities produce more valuable individuals for society.<\/h4>\n<p>The clubs always aim to increase the quality of their work and reduce costs for members when they receive financial support in the form of sports grants. Coaches of children and young people play a key role within the clubs in educational, preventative and sporting activities, and it is the board's great responsibility to find and hire coaches who have both professional knowledge of the relevant sport and are good at interpersonal communication. Research and analysis have presented surveys and compiled results since 1992 which show that organised sports produce more valuable individuals for society. \u00a0Extensive and high-quality sports activities in local authorities cannot take place without the support of both businesses and public bodies.
