A contract has been signed for the design and consultancy of the care home to be built on the S\u00f3lvangur site in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur. Following a tendering process, it was decided to enter into a contract with the company \u00dati og Inni sf.<\/p>\n
This is a 60-bed care home, with completion scheduled for April 2018. The plans of the local council in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur are to connect the building to S\u00f3lvang and partly use S\u00f3lvang as a service centre for the municipality's elderly residents.\u00a0The decision is in line with the strategic plan for the welfare of older people in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, which states that S\u00f3lvangur will be the centre for elderly care services in the municipality. Various support services are already in place there, which it is important to have in the vicinity of a new care home.<\/p>\n
The project management for the development of the nursing home oversees the tendering for the building and site works and shall follow the project through until the building and site are fully completed and the nursing home begins operations. \u00a0Stef\u00e1n B. Veturli\u00f0ason has been appointed project manager. Sigur\u00f0ur Haraldsson, Director of Environmental and Planning Services, signed the contract on behalf of the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, and Baldur \u00d3.
