The Hafnarborg Autumn Exhibition 2016, the exhibition&nbsp;<b><i>Attempt<br \/>\n\u2013 clay and more,<\/i><\/b> in the museum's main hall and then the exhibition of the Swedish designer<br \/>\nJenny Nordberg, <b><i>3\u20135 seconds \u2013 Fast, handmade production<\/i><\/b><i>,<\/i><br \/>\nin Sverris Hall at Hafnarborg, where she will perform a performance piece at the opening.<\/p>\n<h4>Experiment \u2013 clay and more<\/h4>\n<p>The exhibition is a dialogue between visual art and clay, referencing the diverse worlds of industry, art, applied arts and design.<br \/>\nThe participants in the exhibition come from different professions in the visual arts. They all use clay in their work but were given<br \/>\ndifferent words to work out from them. The outcome is, on the one hand, fully-finished works on<br \/>\nwhile others show a study or a working method. Exhibitors<br \/>\nare: Ald\u00eds B\u00e1ra Einarsd\u00f3ttir, Anna Hallin, Bjarnhei\u00f0ur J\u00f3hannsd\u00f3ttir, Brynjar<br \/>\nSigur\u00f0arson, B\u00fai Bjarmar A\u00f0alsteinsson, Erna El\u00ednbj\u00f6rg Sk\u00falad\u00f3ttir, Hanna D\u00eds<br \/>\nWhitehead, Hildigunnur Birgisd\u00f3ttir, Daniel Durnin, Gar\u00f0ar Eyj\u00f3lfsson,<br \/>\nGunnhildur Helgad\u00f3ttir, Olga Bergmann, P\u00e1ll Einarsson, Ragnhei\u00f0ur Ingunn<br \/>\n\u00c1g\u00fastsd\u00f3ttir, Sigga Heimis, Sigr\u00fan J\u00f3na Nor\u00f0dahl, Sigur\u00f0ur Gu\u00f0mundsson,<br \/>\nSigur\u00f0ur Hauksson, Sigurl\u00edna Margr\u00e9t Osuala, Theod\u00f3ra Alfre\u00f0sd\u00f3ttir and Veronika<br \/>\nSedlmair.<\/p>\n<p>Curator<br \/>\nis in the hands of the design duo <b>Terms of Service<\/b> which they are ordered <b>Hild<br \/>\nStein\u00fe\u00f3rsd\u00f3ttir<\/b> architect and <b>R\u00fanu Thors<\/b> product designer but their idea<br \/>\nthat the exhibition was selected from submissions last autumn when a call was issued<br \/>\nwas looking for proposals for the autumn exhibition at the museum in 2016.<\/p>\n<p><b>The curators will be holding a curatorial talk for visitors on Saturday, 27 August.<br \/>\nat 2 p.m.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><i>Experiment \u2013 clay and more <\/i>is the sixth show<br \/>\nin Hafnarborg's autumn exhibition series where the curator's idea is selected from<br \/>\nsubmitted proposals. Previously, as part of the same project,<br \/>\nExhibitions by anthropologist \u00d3lafur Ger\u00f0ur Sigf\u00fasd\u00f3ttir,&nbsp;<i>For now<\/i>, autumn<br \/>\n2011, exhibition by Gu\u00f0ni T\u00f3masson, art historian, <i>Ski Area<\/i>, autumn 2012,<br \/>\nAn exhibition by Anna Mar\u00eda Bogad\u00f3ttir, architect,&nbsp;<i>The index houses in the house<\/i>,<br \/>\nAutumn 2013, <i>Channel,<\/i> Exhibition by Helga Thorsdottir, <i>&nbsp;<\/i>Autumn 2014 and<i><br \/>\n<\/i>The World, an exhibition by art historians A\u00f0alhei\u00f0ur Valgeirsd\u00f3ttir and Ald\u00eds Arnard\u00f3ttir<br \/>\n<i>without our<\/i> Autumn 2015<i>.<\/i> With the autumn exhibition series, Hafnarborg wishes to<br \/>\nto create a channel for interesting ideas and to be a platform where visual art<br \/>\nEnjoys being shaped by diverse perspectives and challenges. Harbour city<br \/>\nis now calling for proposals for the autumn exhibition in 2017. Further information may be<br \/>\nAvailable on the Hafnarborg website: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hafnarborg.is\">www.hafnarborg.is<\/a><\/p>\n<h4>3\u20135 seconds \u2013 Fast, handmade production<\/h4>\n<p>Exhibition<br \/>\nand the performance of the Swedish designer <b>Jenny Nordberg<\/b>, <b><i>3 \u2013 5 seconds \u2013<br \/>\nFast, handmade production<\/i><\/b> addresses how consumption and production are<br \/>\nachieved today and how it can be improved in the future. In their performance in<br \/>\nThe port city sets up a production process where it tests how<br \/>\nDifferent elements of the handmade and the mass-produced can go hand in hand.<\/p>\n<p><b>Jenny<br \/>\nNordberg<\/b> is an industrial designer based in Sweden who has received<br \/>\nRecognition and praise as a progressive designer on the international stage. Jenny<br \/>\npositions itself between art and design and seeks to expand<br \/>\nContemporary ideas about design and designers.
