Mobility Week is a European initiative for improved transport in cities and towns. The aim of the week is to encourage people to think about their own travel habits and to get them to use public transport, cycle or walk. The City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur has taken an active part in the week in recent years and will, of course, do so again this year, for example, by participating in a conference on the bicycle and nature, the greening of car parks, flags on green streets and the installation of educational signs at five protected sites in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur.<\/p>\n<p>The programme for Mobility Week 2016 looks promising, and everyone is encouraged to take an active part.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4>Akureyri\u00a0<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>The photography competition\u00a0<strong>\u201eA walk around the town\u201c<\/strong>\u00a0all week.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.umhverfisraduneyti.ishttps:\/\/hafnarfjordur.is\/media\/PDF_skrar\/samgonguvika1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Further information<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Residents of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur\u00a0<strong>Green parking spaces<\/strong>\u00a0In front of the Fj\u00f8r\u00f0 shopping centre, with the aim of showing that green urban spaces are more attractive than grey car parks. Benches and attractive autumnal shrubs in pots will be installed, and a bicycle rack will be placed on the green area. \u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Flags have been put up on the residential street to remind people of the 15 km\/h speed limit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Friday, 16 September\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>9:00 \u2013 16:00 Cycling Skills and the National Cycling Federation are organising the conference.\u00a0<strong>Wheels to the Future \u2013 The Bicycle and Nature<\/strong>\u00a0at Hl\u00e9gar\u00f0ur in Mosfellsb\u00e6r in collaboration with the municipalities of the capital region and other parties.
