Kr\u00f3nan is one of the companies that in August received recognition from the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur for tidiness, good housekeeping and a professional contribution to environmental matters. \u201eWe at Kr\u00f3nan are grateful and proud of this recognition. All parties involved in the construction of the Kr\u00f3nan in Flatahraun worked together to make the shop and its surroundings as tidy and accessible as possible for customers and staff. During the design and implementation, cost-effective solutions were sought to create an environment that supports a positive customer experience, from sealed coolers to reduce energy waste, to the landscaping of the site.\u201c<\/em> says \u00d3sk Hei\u00f0a Sveinsd\u00f3ttir, Marketing Manager for Kr\u00f3nan, which is the first of the stores in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur to offer green parking spaces with charging poles. The Kr\u00f3nan store in Flatahraun is considered bright and spacious, and its range of fresh and healthy produce is exemplary. \u201eWe emphasise conducting sound business practices in collaboration with suppliers who prioritise health and well-being, and we want Kr\u00f3nan to be a model workplace, where pay equality prevails and where emphasis is placed on the training, safety and health of our staff.\u00a0 We operate responsibly, thereby having a positive impact on the environment.<\/em> We recognise the extensive and positive impact that Kr\u00f3nan can have on the community, and we will therefore do our utmost and ensure we perform to the highest standard.\u201c <\/em>says \u00d3sk Hei\u00f0a. Among Kr\u00f3nan's daily priorities are reducing pollution and the waste of resources, recycling, reuse, energy saving, and projects related to reducing food waste. For example, this defines what and how to sort waste for recycling, how to analyse and measure it, and makes the information visible to staff. All employees play a major role and are responsible for environmental projects.<\/p>\n

Beauty Contest 2016 \u2013 Awards for Businesses<\/h3>\n

The companies H\u00e9\u00f0inn, Kr\u00f3nan, and Te & kaffi are considered good examples of corporate tidiness and general upkeep. They recently received an award from the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur for their tidiness. With these awards, the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur aims to raise public interest in the beautification of the town's environment by drawing attention to exemplary businesses, which should thus serve as an inspiration for others to take action.<\/p>\n

A cleaning challenge for businesses in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur<\/h3>\n

From 15th to 30th September, businesses in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur can return timber and iron to specially designated containers at three locations in the town. \u00a0With this initiative, the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur aims to bring the service closer to businesses, thereby encouraging more to take part in making the industrial estates in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur tidier. A clean appearance affects perception and business, and the direct contribution of all businesses is crucial for the appearance of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur's business and industrial areas.<\/p>\n
