The annual municipal finance conference 2016 will be held
\non 22 and 23 September at the Hilton Reykjavik Nordica. The conference begins at 10 am on Thursday with
\nSpeech by the chairman of the Association of Icelandic Municipalities, Halld\u00f3r Halld\u00f3rsson.<\/p>\n
At the financial conference, presentations will be given on a variety of topics which
\ndeal with the finances and public administration of municipalities. On the first day, among other things, material will be covered that
\nconcerning the economy and financial performance of local authorities in 2015, changes to
\npension schemes for public servants, infrastructure development for tourists, framework agreements
\non the services of nursing homes and increased council tax revenue from tourists. The latter
