Haukar run a leisure centre.<\/h3>\n

The City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and the football club Haukar have made
\nan agreement for Haukar, with the support of the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, to continue running a leisure centre for children aged 6 to 9.<\/p>\n

The after-school club is run on
\nAt \u00c1svellir, there are currently 55 children registered for the after-school club, and this number is set to increase to 60 in the coming days. These are children who would otherwise be at the Hraunsel after-school club in Hraunvallask\u00f3li.
\nThere is general satisfaction with this project, and it gives the children an opportunity to
\ncombine sports, exercise and various pastimes while they are at the after-school club. The managers were Magn\u00fas Gunnarsson and Fanney.
\nD\u00f3r\u00f3the Halld\u00f3rsd\u00f3ttir, Education Director of the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, who signed

Emphasis on movement and playfulness<\/h3>\n

Haukar has been running an after-school club at \u00c1svellir for two years with great success. The club is available every weekday for primary school pupils in Year 1 and Year 2. The children are collected from school and brought to \u00c1svellir.\u00a0At the Haukar after-school club, children play various games, tackle puzzles, go outside, play board games, build with Lego, colour in, and much more. The emphasis is on physical activity and games, but children are always welcome to take it easy with activities like colouring, playing games, and so on. The facilities include the Haukar assembly hall, the large sports hall and the surrounding nature. \u00a0The Director is \u00cdris \u00d3skarsd\u00f3ttir. She holds a BA degree in Leisure and Social Welfare Studies from the University of Iceland. She has been the director of the L\u00e6kjarsk\u00f3li after-school club for several years and therefore has considerable experience.<\/p>\n
