Stephensen and P\u00e1ll Eyj\u00f3lfsson today signed an agreement, on behalf of B\u00e6jarb\u00ed\u00f3 Ltd., with the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur for the management and operation of B\u00e6jarb\u00ed\u00f3 for the next three years. The partners believe there is great potential in building a strong and vibrant cultural programme at B\u00e6jarb\u00ed\u00f3 in the heart of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur. The activities of P\u00e9tur and P\u00e1ll at B\u00e6jarb\u00ed\u00f3 will formally begin on Saturday, 10 December, with an Advent concert by KK and Ellen.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/hafnarfjordur.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/IMG_5603-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_5603\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 2048px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 2048\/1366;\"><\/p>\n<p>A call was made for an enthusiastic operator for B\u00e6jarb\u00ed\u00f3, with the aim of developing a vibrant cultural centre that attracts a broad range of visitors to the heart of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and making the best use of B\u00e6jarb\u00ed\u00f3. to promote a diverse cultural programme and uphold the cinema's special national standing. The contribution from the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur is in the form of a waiver of rent and electricity and heating costs. A three-year agreement was made, with the option to extend for a further three years. In consultation with the operator, it is also planned that in 2017 the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur will purchase basic audio-visual equipment and a screen for B\u00e6jarb\u00ed\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p>Further information in the minutes of the Town Council meeting of 3 November 2016 \u2013 item 13.
