The City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur's Service Centre is on duty almost around the clock for gritting and sanding, but this is not always sufficient. Gritting and snow clearance duties generally begin on 15 October and last until 15 April each year. The anti-slip measures are primarily preventative, using salting and gritting.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Sand at the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Municipality Service Centre at Nor\u00f0urhellu 2<\/h4>\n<p>As in previous years, residents of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur can collect sand from the town's Service Centre at Nor\u00f0urhellu. There, sand can be taken from baskets at the front entrance, and bags and shovels are provided. The baskets are always refilled at the end of the day.<\/p>\n<p>An overview of the arrangements for snow clearance and the de-icing of roads, pavements and footpaths can be found. <a class=\"internal\" href=\"\/en\/ibuar\/samgongur\/snow-removal\/\">Here<\/a><\/p>\n<p>We encourage residents to be aware of their local surroundings and to assist with sanding to ensure the safety of everyone.
