In 2009, Iceland entered into a partnership with the international community.<br \/>\nthe heart association and the GoRed project with a primary focus on women and<br \/>\nheart disease. The project has since evolved over the years and to<br \/>\nThis time, the entire month is open to all, with the theme being gender and age-neutral.<br \/>\nHeart health concerns everyone. This year's Red Day falls on Friday 3 February. Everyone across the country, big and small, is encouraged to show their support by wearing red to work and\/or school tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>Several buildings will be lit up red for the occasion.<br \/>\nin the month of the heart: Landsp\u00edtali, the University of Iceland, the Power Station in Elli\u00f0a\u00e1rdalur and<br \/>\nHarpa. <\/p>\n<h4>The month is divided into four topics:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>First week: Women and heart disease <\/li>\n<li>Week Two: Heart Defects <\/li>\n<li>Week Three: Cerebrovascular diseases <\/li>\n<li>Week Four: Prevention. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These topics will be discussed in different media.<br \/>\nall month, the organisations behind the campaign will also be introducing themselves and<br \/>\nits activities. <\/p>\n<p>Everyone who takes an active part in the project \u2013 active participation includes supporting and raising awareness by wearing red on Red Day \u2013 is encouraged to post.<br \/>\nPhotos on the campaign's Facebook page \u2013  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Go-Red-%C3%8Dsland-314666780026\/\">Here<\/a>&nbsp;or on Twitter @gorediceland under the hashtag #hjarta\u00f0mitt <strong><br \/><\/strong><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Febr\u00faar er hjartam\u00e1nu\u00f0urinn og vi\u00f0 f\u00f6gnum honum. \u00c1ri\u00f0 2009 f\u00f3r \u00cdsland \u00ed samstarf me\u00f0 al\u00fej\u00f3\u00f0a hjartasamt\u00f6kunum og GoRed verkefninu me\u00f0 megin\u00e1herslu \u00e1 konur og hjartasj\u00fakd\u00f3ma.
