The sixth of February is Nursery School Day, and the day is celebrated, among other things.

Actions to promote and strengthen professional nursery education<\/h4>\n

Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur wants its measures and projects to highlight the importance of the work in its nurseries, create a working environment that fosters and strengthens, and draw everyone's attention to the ambitious and professional work carried out within the walls of the town's nurseries. Over the last New Year, there was an increase in preparation time for professionals who are in
\nThe Icelandic Teachers' Union. Heads of department who previously had five planning periods have
\nnow six hours a week. Nursery school teachers and other professionally qualified staff had four hours
\nbut now have five hours a week. The aim is to create better time to prepare for the job and to make school work as professional as possible.
\nadvantage. The Municipality of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur has also, over the past two years, supported staff who
\nwant to start a course in early childhood education and also those who want to get
\nlicence as nursery teachers but who have another university education in their background. This academic year
\n22 students in both undergraduate and postgraduate studies who receive a grant from
\nprayer.<\/p>\n

Space requirements measured and revised<\/h4>\n

The National Curriculum for Early Years (2011) states that \u201ethe organisation, design and use of the learning environment reflect the attitudes and values that underpin the nursery's work. The environment is also an important influencing factor in children's learning, and its design, use and organisation must take into account the experience, interests and development of different children.\u201c. <\/em>In the notes to the 2017 budget of the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, it was pointed out
\nthe importance of examining children's learning environments in terms of the number of Fermat numbers, or of reconsidering
\nspace requirements for the children in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur's nurseries. Work on this has already begun and is being
\nto gather data on the number of fermenters in each nursery and how the space is divided into
\nin the schools, what the play area is like and what proportion of the space is taken up by, for example, cupboards and storage.
\nand another service space. This work examined the number of groups of children in each school and
\nhow much playing space each group has at their disposal. It is estimated that this work will be completed by the end of February.<\/p>\n
