V\u00ed\u00f0ivellir Nursery School celebrates its 40th anniversary.
\non 28 February. The birthday was celebrated in various ways. Guests
\nwere invited to a birthday sing-song in the hall with the eldest children and in the afternoon they went
\nthe children paraded through the neighbourhood and sang the birthday song and the songs about V\u00eddivelli at the top of their voices
\nand Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur.<\/i><\/p>\n
The nursery school V\u00ed\u00f0ivellir was
\nformally opened on 28 February 1977, and then as a new day nursery
\nIt was intended to be open every day from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm, except on Saturdays. The day nursery was
\nthe need to meet the needs of priority groups in the town for day care places. The opening was seen as marking
\na significant milestone in childcare in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and the first children's home
\nwhich the town operated. At that time, the town had been running a day nursery at H\u00f6r\u00f0uvellir for about
\na decades-long period of cooperation with the women's trade union Frams\u00f3kn. Proponents of the construction

The nursery school
\nV\u00ed\u00f0ivellir has been run as an inclusive school since 1992 and worked
\nhas experience with children with special needs and disabilities in various areas. A spacious activity room.
\nis at school and there has been a strong emphasis on exercise and healthy lifestyles in
\nthe daily lives of the school's pupils and staff. The nursery school has twice received
\nRecognitions of the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Municipal Education Board for professionalism and school development in
\nthe school and the nomination for the Innovation Awards in public service and administration.<\/p>\n
