We are celebrating the first day of summer in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur in style and won't let the weather stop us. At V\u00ed\u00f0ista\u00f0at\u00fan there will be festivities throughout the day, and the celebrations will spread further across the town.<\/p>\n<p>See you at V\u00ed\u00f0ista\u00f0at\u00fan and elsewhere! \ud83d\ude42<br \/><b><br \/><\/b><b>Programme for the First of May&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>10 o'clock. Do you want to sail?<\/b>&nbsp;The training group of the \u00deyt Sailing Club invites local residents out sailing for the day. Beginners and experienced sailors are invited to sail alone or with experienced sailors as appropriate, on the club's dinghies and keelboats.<\/li>\n<li><b>11 a.m. Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Cross-Country Race at V\u00ed\u00f0ista\u00f0at\u00fan<\/b>. Then the competition starts for the youngest and works its way up.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td colspan=\"2\">The preliminary round will be with the youngest competitors.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><b>12-1 pm: The town council grills the first sausages in the newly built barbecue hut in V\u00ed\u00f0ista\u00f0at\u00fan.<\/b>&nbsp;Free sausages available while stocks last.<\/p>\n<p><b>11 am - 5 pm. Open in the Museum's Packhouse.<\/b>&nbsp;A scavenger hunt for children around the exhibition.<\/p>\n<p><b>14:00 Guided walk through the old town.<\/b>&nbsp;The Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Folk Museum is hosting a historical walk with a lively and entertaining guide, Ingvar Viktorsson. The walk starts from the Packhouse.<\/p>\n<p><b>12-17 Open at Hafnarborg.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>12-2 pm: Strong Men and Loud Voices at Hafnarborg.<\/b>&nbsp;The men's choir \u00derestir is holding an open rehearsal at Hafnarborg. This is an introduction to the choir, with a focus on recruiting new members.<\/p>\n<p><b>1 pm Scout Mass in Hafnarfjar\u00f0arkirkja<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>13:45 Parade from Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Church to V\u00ed\u00f0ista\u00f0ir Square<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>14:00-16:00 Family programme at V\u00ed\u00f0ista\u00f0at\u00fan, organised by the Hraunb\u00faar Scout Association.<\/b>&nbsp;Featuring Aron Hannes, Sirkus \u00cdslands, Birta and Hekla will be singing, and there will be a performance from the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur School of Choreography. Box climbing, face painting, bouncy castles, candy floss and various scout games.<\/p>\n<p><b>16:00 Lorry Rally by the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Motor Sports Club in V\u00ed\u00f0ista\u00f0at\u00fan.<\/b>&nbsp;Competitors must bring their own cars \u2013 the entry fee is free.
