Work begins on 12 June. 14-year-olds will work 72 hours this summer, 15-year-olds 92 hours, and 16-year-olds 112 hours. The number of hours for 15 and 16-year-olds has been increased and their working period is longer. 14-year-olds work every other week, one week in the morning (9 am - 12 pm) and the other in the afternoon (1 pm - 4 pm), from Monday to Thursday. Therefore, their working hours per week are 12. The working hours for 15 and 16-year-olds vary. 16-year-olds are paid 650.51 kr. per hour, plus holiday pay. It is very important that 16-year-olds submit a tax card to ensure they are not taxed. 15-year-olds are paid 489.28 kr. per hour, plus holiday pay. 14-year-olds are paid 433.03 kr. per hour, plus holiday pay. The staff of the Work School play a vital role in creating the town's desirable appearance, ensuring it is clean and tidy for residents and the increasing number of tourists who visit.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Rules of the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Summer Job Scheme<\/h4>\n<p>The rules of the Work Experience Programme apply equally during working hours and during school-organised social activities:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>A foreman is a supervisor at a workplace. His next superior is a superintendant.<\/li>\n<li>All staff are to be hard-working, punctual, honest and courteous.<\/li>\n<li>Illness and other absences must be reported to the Vinnusk\u00f3linn office as soon as possible by a guardian.<\/li>\n<li>The use of tobacco is prohibited. The same applies to alcohol and other drugs.<\/li>\n<li>Shop and store runs are not permitted during working hours, including coffee breaks.<\/li>\n<li>Students are expected to conduct themselves in a proper and tidy manner at the workplace and to take good care of the equipment used.<\/li>\n<li>Staff are liable for any relevant costs if they commit acts of vandalism to the property of the Work School and others.<\/li>\n<li>During coffee breaks, staff are expected to have a healthy and good lunch. Energy drinks and fizzy drinks are not permitted.<\/li>\n<li>The use of mobile phones is not permitted during working hours. The same applies to iPods\/MP3 players unless permission is granted by the team leader.<\/li>\n<li>All employees provide their own protective clothing and are responsible for their own clothes and belongings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The office of the Work School is in the old auxiliary service building at Hrauntunga 5.
