There will be an offer
\nA proper national day party on 17th June in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur. Organised programme
\nwill be in the town centre of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, at
\nThorsplan, by Hafnarborg and the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Folk Museum. On Strandgatan there will be stalls, fairground rides,
\nArchery, table tennis, archery, music, an obstacle course and giant inflatables, and everyone should
\nFamily members can find something interesting to suit them. <\/em><\/p>\n

The day begins at 8 a.m. with the Hraunb\u00faar Scout Group pulling
\nflag at half-mast and flying throughout the town. A national costume gathering will be held in
\nat the parish hall of V\u00ed\u00f0ista\u00f0akirkja at 11 a.m. where Annr\u00edki \u2013 National Costumes and Jewellery
\nprovides assistance with putting on national costumes and are Hafnfir\u00f0ingar and others
\nThose interested are encouraged to wear the national costumes of all countries throughout the day.
\nincluding a parade from the Scout Centre Hraunbyrgi at 1 p.m. Celebrations in the town centre.
\nThe Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur event begins at 13:30 and lasts until 17:00. This year's Fjallkonan is
\nEva \u00c1g\u00fasta Arad\u00f3ttir and the celebrations will begin with her address. Among the items on the programme
\nare the Karlak\u00f3rinn \u00derestir choir, Skoppa and Skr\u00edtla, Viking battle \u2013 Rimmug\u00fdgur, Emmsj\u00e9
\nGauti, senior citizens' line dancing and other dance performances. <\/p>\n

Navigation \u2013 boats and
\nKayaks \u2013 on Hamarkotsl\u00e6k<\/strong><\/p>\n

The sailing club \u00deytur will have boats and kayaks at L\u00e6knar.
\nin addition to the horses being ridden by children from the S\u00f6rli Riding Club. The others
\nThe hugely entertaining East Street Festival is taking place this year and is now underway.
\nFor the sixth time. As in previous years, there will be lots of fun and exciting things on offer.
\nAmong the events will be a cosy caf\u00e9 with hot chocolate and waffles,
\nThai restaurant, crafts, jewellery, books and a few flea markets.
\nThere will also be live music in the street throughout the day. Gu\u00f0r\u00fan Gunnarsd\u00f3ttir
\nvisits hospitals with pianist Gunnar Gunnarsson and holds
\nconcert. Open to all at the Skate Park on Flatahraun at
\nAt the Boarding Club from 12 pm \u2013 6 pm. <\/p>\n

Exhibitions in museums
\nHafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur<\/strong><\/p>\n

Three exhibitions are currently on display at Hafnarborg; the exhibition of Einar Fal
\nIng\u00f3lfsson's \u201eLands\u00fdn \u2013 In the Footsteps of Johannes Larsen\u201c, an exhibition of Sara's works
\nGunnarsd\u00f3ttir and Una Lorenzen and it is called \u201eEverything is Dead Without Dreams\u201c and
\nAnnr\u00edki \u2013 National costumes and jewellery, together with the Faldafreyjur, will display Icelandic costumes. Admission
\nis free at Hafnarborg and open from 12-17. The Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Folk Museum is lively.
\nand an interesting collection for the whole family. Free admission to all museums and
\nOpen from 11 am to 5 pm at six exhibition venues: Pakkh\u00fasi\u00f0, S\u00edvertsens-h\u00fasi\u00f0,
\nBeggub\u00fa\u00f0, Siggub\u00e6, the Bungalow and G\u00fatt\u00f3, as well as a photography exhibition on Strandst\u00edgnum. <\/p>\n

Transport and
\nTraffic closures<\/strong><\/p>\n

The city centre will be closed to car traffic while
\ncelebrations are underway. Guests and
\nPedestrians are encouraged to walk to Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur town centre, take the bus or park
\nLegally close to the city centre. Numerous car parks are available at L\u00e6kjarsk\u00f3li,
\nThe Technical College, Flensborg, the Strandgata Sports Hall or V\u00ed\u00f0ista\u00f0ask\u00f3li. Disabled parking
\nat 1 Linnet Path.<\/p>\n
