At its meeting on 21 June, the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Town Council approved a construction permit for Landsnet hf. for the Sandskei\u00f0 Line 1, 220\/400 kV high-voltage line project (also known as Lyklafell Line 1). Specifically, this concerns a high-voltage line planned to be erected between the substations at Sandskei\u00f0 and in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, and named the Sandskei\u00f0 Line 1. According to the application, it is considered necessary to undertake the said project and erect a new high-voltage line to carry out energy transmission to Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, in place of Hamranes lines 1 and 2, which will be decommissioned and dismantled after Sandskei\u00f0sl\u00edna 1 has been put into service.<\/p>\n
The project is described in the application for a development permit and its supporting documents, and the permit is granted on the basis of these in accordance with the Regulations on Development Permits No. 772\/2012. An environmental assessment report for the project and the opinion of the Planning Authority on the project's environmental impact are available and can be found below.<\/p>\n
The decision to issue the implementation permit was published in the Law Gazette on 3 July. In accordance with Article 4 of Act No. 130\/2011 on the Environmental and Natural Resources Appeals Board, attention is drawn to the fact that those who have legitimate interests to protect, as well as the environment- and outdoor recreation organisations with at least 30 members, provided that the purpose of the organisation is to protect the interests concerned by the appeal, may appeal the granting of the licence to the Environmental and Resource Appeals Board within one month of the advertisement's publication, at Skuggasund 3, 101 Reykjav\u00edk.
