The Education Committee proposes that, from this coming autumn, the municipality of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur will provide primary school pupils with learning materials, i.e. stationery and exercise books, free of charge. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>The estimated cost is around 20 million kr\u00f3na. The proposal is referred to the town council and a supplementary budget for 2017. With this, the Municipality of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur contributes to greater equality, a reduced carbon footprint and less waste. In addition, cost savings will be achieved in purchasing and potentially in the classroom.
