{"id":13410,"date":"2017-08-10T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-08-10T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hafnarfjordur.is\/hafnarfjardarbaer-fyrstur-til-ad-fa-jafnlaunavottun\/"},"modified":"2022-10-25T09:00:27","modified_gmt":"2022-10-25T09:00:27","slug":"hafnarfjordur-the-first-to-receive-equal-pay-certification","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hafnarfjordur.is\/en\/hafnarfjardarbaer-fyrstur-til-ad-fa-jafnlaunavottun\/","title":{"rendered":"First Icelandic municipality to receive equal pay certification"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur is the first municipality in Iceland to receive the certified equal pay mark from the Ministry of Welfare.\u00a0The aim of the implementation is to establish and maintain pay equality within the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and to fulfil the duties of employers to ensure equal rights for women and men, pay them equal wages and ensure they enjoy the same terms and conditions for the same or equal work.<\/p>\n<p>With certification from the certification body, BSI in Iceland, as well as the equal pay mark from the Ministry of Welfare, the Municipality of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur can truly confirm that it meets the requirements set out in the equal pay standard, \u00cdST 85:2012.<\/p>\n<p>These include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure that all decisions regarding pay and conditions are documented, justified and traceable.<\/li>\n<li>Procedures, job descriptions and instructions are in place.<\/li>\n<li>Legal and other requirements are met<\/li>\n<li>Preventative measures and action plans are in place.<\/li>\n<li>The areas of responsibility and roles of key personnel are defined.<\/li>\n<li>That pay decisions reflect that the same pay is paid for comparable work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>An equal pay system therefore provides managers with a clearer view of pay analyses, improvement projects, the follow-up of actions, and confirmation that the established equality policy is being followed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201eWe are extremely proud to be the first local authority in the country to receive a certified equal pay system.
