The City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur and the Icelandic Touring Association are inviting interested people to take part in interesting walks in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur in September. Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur is a health town, and this project places a special emphasis on well-being, exercise, and introducing the town's residents to its hinterland. The Society is celebrating its 90th anniversary this month and is organising such walks all over the country.<\/p>\n
The walks are scheduled to take place every Wednesday in September at 6 p.m., are generally family-friendly and last approximately 60-90 minutes. <\/p>\n
6th September at 18:00 at Hvaleyrarvatn. Meet at the car park by the sandy cove at Hvaleyrarvatn. Guide Steinunn Leifsd\u00f3ttir and Steinar Bj\u00f6rgvinsson, Executive Director of the Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur Forestry Society, will lead the walk and talk about what you will see.<\/p>\n
13th Sept. at 18:00 Elf Walk \u2013 starting from Hafnarborg. Author and elf guide Brynd\u00eds Bj\u00f6rgvinsd\u00f3ttir will lead the walk and tell stories of the main elf sites and legends in the centre and south of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur.<\/p>\n
20th September at 10 a.m. Lava Walk led by J\u00f3natan Gar\u00f0arsson. Meet at Straumur, in Straumsv\u00edk. Many exciting places will be explored, such as Straumsr\u00e9ttin, K\u00faar\u00e9ttin, Kotaklifsv\u00f6r\u00f0u, \u00d3ttarsta\u00f0ir, Vatnaskerskl\u00f6pp, J\u00f3nsb\u00fa\u00f0, \u00de\u00fdskub\u00fa\u00f0, and the route will be closed at Straumur.<\/p>\n
