Actor Stef\u00e1n Karl Stef\u00e1nsson planted a tree in Hellisger\u00f0i last week in a low-key ceremony with his immediate family. The occasion and the lead-up was that after the premiere of \u201eWith a Pocket Full of Stones\u201c at the National Theatre recently, the National Theatre's director, Ari Matth\u00edasson, gave Stef\u00e1n a tree instead of a bouquet of flowers, as is customary. Ari informed Stef\u00e1n that the tree was to be planted in Hellisger\u00f0i, a location chosen in consultation with the Head Gardener of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur municipality, and an ceremony was subsequently arranged for last week.<\/p>\n
Accompanying Stef\u00e1n in Hellisger\u00f0i on this occasion were his mother, Hulda Karen \u00d3lafsd\u00f3ttir; his wife, Steinunn \u00d3l\u00edna \u00deorsteinsd\u00f3ttir; his sister and other close relatives; and Ari, the Director of the National Theatre. The Gardener for the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, Ingibj\u00f6rg Sigur\u00f0ard\u00f3ttir, was a source of support for Stef\u00e1n.<\/p>\n
Stef\u00e1n told those present that he was grateful to be able to plant the tree in Hellisger\u00f0i.
