The New Year's bonfire will, as usual, be held at the Haukar sports grounds in V\u00f6llunum at 20:00. Specifically, in the lava field in front of the sports centre, the bonfire is a joint event organised by Knattspyrnuf\u00e9lagi\u00f0 Haukar and the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Passers-by are advised to keep a safe distance from the bonfire, dress appropriately for the weather, leave fireworks at home and fully enjoy the company of friends, family and other cheerful residents and visitors of the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur. The Sports and Leisure Committee, the prevention officer, parent councils and parent-teacher associations in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, together with the police, encourage parents of children and teenagers in the town to make New Year's Eve a fun and family-friendly evening.<\/p>\n
As usual, some traffic can be expected in V\u00f6llunum on New Year's Eve, and it is therefore recommended that people set off in good time to enjoy the bonfires and fireworks.
