The Municipality of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur has appointed a full-time Data Protection Officer, a position that was advertised at the beginning of the summer. J\u00f3n Ingi \u00deorvaldsson has been appointed to the post and
\nHe was selected from a group of 24 applicants following a detailed selection process. <\/p>\n
J\u00f3n Ingi completed a B.A. and an M.A. in Law in 2011 from the University of Iceland.
\nIn their studies, issues and rules concerning personal data protection were a particular area of interest, and therefore took
\nJ\u00f3n Ingi for the Personal Law I and II courses, as well as his master's thesis.

After his studies, J\u00f3n Ingi worked for the Liquidation Board of VBS investment bank, but from 2012
