For the past few weeks and months, the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur has been working with the findings of a report, prepared over the winter, on the working conditions in the city's nurseries. \u00a0In line with its findings, the City of Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur has been working on improving the working environment and facilities for both the children and staff of the nurseries. Increase in preparation time and overtime hours for nursery school staff<\/strong><\/p>\n This year's budget approves an increase of one hour in preparation and overtime for staff, for both qualified and unqualified personnel. This was a welcome increase, as it provides greater flexibility to meet the many tasks the nursery faces on a daily basis.<\/p>\n Additional funding was allocated to each and every nursery school to further alleviate the pressure caused by staffing shortages, and to strengthen their internal operations.<\/p>\n Improvements immediately tangible this autumn <\/strong><\/p>\n From enrolment this August, the steps are important measures to increase space, with the aim that fewer children will be in groups than the number for which a play area is designated. Previously, however, almost all of the nursery's spaces were counted as play areas, even though children never actually used them.<\/p>\n In preparation since the New Year<\/strong><\/p>\n Last December, a working group was established with the aim of looking into improved working conditions in nurseries, and many good proposals were put forward.
